We also provide cleanup, sanitization, deodorization, and exclusion work to keep your wildlife problem from recurring, be it a colony of bats in a building, raccoons in the attic, or destructive behaviors of critters such as squirrels, gophers and pigeons.
We all know New York City has its share of mice and rats, but did you know that the white-footed mouse is one of the most populous species in the city? Recent studies are showing these mice are evolving different DNA for different areas of the city in which they live. So, a Manhattan mouse may be genetically different than a mouse from the Bronx. These are fascinating creatures to study, but once they’re inside your home, apartment or business, it’s a completely different story. You want them out! They cause all kinds of damage, soak areas with their droppings and urine, get into food and other goods, introduce disease or mites into your living or office space, and can even be responsible for fires when they chew through electrical wiring.
Many of the projects we solve involve raccoon families in attics and chimneys, mud swallow nests on stucco, woodpeckers drilling siding, voles and gophers destroying lawns, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, bat infestations, skunks stealing pet food and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.
Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their noise and commotion and smell. Baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that my professional wildlife removal operators and I are prepared to solve.
Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don't hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, pigeon waste cleanup, bat guano removal, mouse droppings, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. We are a full service pest control company with a wide range of animal control solutions.
I have been in the professional wildlife control business for many years. My favorite stories and experiences are removing bats from schools and churches.

Rats at One World Trade Center
Some are calling it a rat plague, others are simply grossed out when they go to work. But, rats are definitely a serious problem for tenants at the new One World Trade Center. Vogue staffers find rat droppings on their desks, rats are eating through rugs to fit under doors, and rats are eating through the ceiling.
Rats Overrun MacArthur Park in Midtown Manhattan
The out of control rat infestation in MacArthur Park in Midtown is directly linked to the massive amounts of litter dropped there by the city\'s taxi and limo drivers. The area of the park near the FDR Service Road is a popular place for these drivers to relax in between shifts, but the trash they\'ve dropped has attracted rats who are now aggressively invading the park and playground area.
Bold Raccoons Make Themselves at Home in Harlem
Residents are complaining of half a dozen bold raccoons in Harlem between Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard and Lenox Avenue. These raccoons roam this residential area as if they own it, they are as big as small dogs, and apparently are completely unafraid of people. They don’t back off or run away when people make loud noises or stomp their feet, they scavenge in backyards, patios and gardens, use yards as their own personal toilet, and are seen during the day as well as at night. A family of four raccoons have learned to open screen doors and lift lids off garbage cans, and residents are concerned that the raccoons will become more aggressive during mating season. They are asking the city for $1500 to pay professionals to remove the raccoons from the neighborhood, protecting their children and pets from possible harm.
Manhattan Animal Control
Pigeons, squirrels, bats, mice and rats wreak havoc on historic buildings in Manhattan. It\\\'s terrible to witness a beautiful facade marred by years of pigeon excrement, or a previously gorgeous interior now littered with squirrel nests, or riddled with rodents. In these cases, animal removal is not enough. You need a professional who can remove the wild animals, thoroughly clean and sanitize the area, prevent animals from returning to the area, inspect the building for animal damage to its structure or electrical wiring, and who will carefully restore the site.
Pigeon damage is particularly harsh on a building. Pigeon droppings are, of course, an ugly stain on an otherwise beautiful facade. But, even worse, their excrement has a corrosive effect on concrete, wood and other materials, ruining the look of a building as well as causing structural damage. Diseases such as pigeon ornithosis, encephalitis, toxoplasmosis, salmonella food poisoning and other diseases can be transmitted from pigeon droppings to humans and other animals. Buildings or areas of buildings can become infested with mites, fleas, ticks or lice that drop off of pigeons.
Other animals, such as mice and rats, can be attracted to an area where pigeons have roosted. These rodents bring their own set of diseases, bugs, and damage to a building.
Whether you have pigeons, squirrels, rodents or other wild animals living in your building, you need a professional to remove them, prevent them from returning, repair the damage they caused, and restore the building.
